IP Blacklist Check

Check whether your public IP address appears on well-known spam, abuse and proxy blacklists. Results for each list are shown in the External Blacklists panel.

What an IP blacklist is

Blacklists (also called blocklists or DNSBLs) are public lists of addresses linked to spam, attacks, bots or anonymous proxies. Websites, email providers and firewalls use them to filter traffic automatically.

What to do if you are listed

  • Scan your computers and phones for malware and update your router's firmware.
  • Restart your router to request a new address if your provider uses dynamic IPs.
  • Use the delisting page of the list that flags you, then run this check again.

Being listed often raises your risk score too. See how it affects your IP fraud score, or run a full IP lookup.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my IP address blacklisted?

+

Most home and mobile addresses are shared or reused. A previous user, an infected device on your network or spam sent from your connection can put the address on a list. It does not mean you did anything wrong.

How do I get my IP removed from a blacklist?

+

First remove the cause: scan devices for malware and secure your router. Then use the list's own removal form. Spamhaus and most other lists offer free delisting. On a dynamic connection, restarting the router may simply give you a new, clean address.

Does a blacklisted IP affect email?

+

Yes. Mail servers check blacklists before accepting messages, so emails sent from a listed address often bounce or land in spam. This matters most if you run your own mail server.
